Structured charcoal database

Charcoal product and specification data, separated from marketing claims.

Charcoal Hub Data is the structured data layer of Charcoal Hub: product records, size classes, packaging formats and the public-standard methodology that makes those numbers comparable between suppliers.

7 products, 2 applications, 3 size classes and 2 packaging formats are published today. Each carries a verification status and data source; values labelled supplier-declared come from public supplier listings and have not been independently tested by CHARCOAL HUB.

01 · Schema

What this database covers

Every section below is a defined collection with a strict data schema. Records are published with a verification status attached — most values are currently supplier-declared. Methodology pages are published now because they describe public standards rather than supplier claims.

Product records

One record per supplier product: identity, raw material, form and dimensions, the proximate measurements (ash, moisture, fixed carbon, volatile matter), burning time, packaging, MOQ and verification status.

Product types

The classification axes used to group products — raw-material base, carbonised form and product family — so records can be filtered without inventing names.

Applications

How records are tied to end use (water-pipe/hookah, commercial grilling, and other combustion uses) with the raw materials and specifications each application depends on.

Size classes

Nominal dimensional classes (cube edge or diameter in millimetres) with their tolerance expectations and the products typically sold in each class.

Packaging formats

Carton and bag configurations with the typical minimum order quantity and private-label options associated with each format.

Specifications (methodology)

Eight public-standard methodology pages explaining what each measured metric means, how it is determined, and what a buyer should ask for. These are knowledge pages, not test results.

02 · Provenance

How a record earns its place

Each product record carries a data_source, a verification_status and a last_verified date. Nothing is published on a supplier's word alone.

StatusMeaning
Unverified Evidence level A — claim captured but not yet checked against any source.
Supplier-declared Evidence level B — values supplied by the producer; no supporting document reviewed yet.
Document-verified Evidence level C — checked against a supplier document (spec sheet, packing list, certificate of analysis).
Third-party tested Evidence level F — a laboratory report on a real batch sample, traceable by report number.
A specification without a method is not comparable.

The methodology pages explain why: ash, moisture, volatile matter, fixed carbon, burning time and size tolerance all depend on the method and the conditions used. Start with ash content and size tolerance.

03 · Network

The main buying site, including ready-to-quote product pages such as coconut shell charcoal.

Testing & methodology

Laboratory-side detail on how each measurement is performed and reported.

Manufacturer directory

Producer profiles and verification records behind the product data.
